We’re on the cusp of the 4th industrial revolution which is expected to bring about exponential change. Large-scale disruption will impact the way we live, work and learn.
According to the World Economic Forum, Future of Jobs Report, 65% of children entering kindergarten in 2020 will work jobs that don’t exist today. A third of the core skill-sets which will be required in future do not find a place in the present curricula..
So, where do we go from here? How do our children become future-ready?
SOLI Hub seeks to address this issue by opening up a learning space where participants can equip themselves with necessary skills for negotiating the 21st century. Drawing on Prof. Sugata Mitra’s work on self-organised learning, principles of design thinking and the Gandhian philosophy of Basic Education – it provides a platform for children to deep dive into the pure joy of learning. Also, it takes forward critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, collaboration and other 21st century skills as enunciated in National Education Policy, 2020.
SOLI Hub is a space where freedom reigns. Where children and youth learn because they want to. Where learning has a direct impact on their surroundings, their community. Our participants are changemakers. They work to understand, tackle issues that can improve their community, seek solutions, collaborate and innovate.
This, we believe, is the beginning of lifelong learning. Something that will enable our children and youth to embrace and own the century that belongs to them.
