SOLI Hub, Wai

SOLI Hub at Wai, a town in Maharashtra, started in August 2018 at Dravid Memorial High School with students of grades 6 and 7. More than thirty students expressed their desire to participate in the project and zeroed down on addressing pollution in River Krishna which flows just a kilometre from their school.

Children engaged in collaborative research on various aspects of river pollution. These ranged from why rivers all over the world are disappearing, possible causes that hamper rivers cleaning, causes of pollution in River Krishna at Wai and more.

This led to ideation on what they would like to do to tackle the problem. Robotic boats was the answer! And then started the exciting part of designing prototypes.
